I arrived in Durness already inspired by the landscape and community of the area. Working with the young people I was able to transform the digital studio into a darkroom and use everyday objects, such as cans and matchboxes, to make pinhole cameras. I also documented the current Mackay families who live in the area, producing an archive of photogrophic portraits.
I also worked with the young people of the area making a short film 'Lost For Words' that reflected their lives within this unique environment. This was shown as a projection onto the historic Balnakeil House, traditional seat of the Mackay clan, as part of a public event that attracted a large audience from the surrounding area.
